Re: ITP Falcom3 Compression

First of all, for what game do you want to use this ITP on? The ITP format has several revisions. Falcom keeps changing the format in every game. Ys VIII PC ITPs, for example, besides using their usual compression, they don't store RGBA values, but they use BC7 encoding as well, while as for example...

Re: Sorcerian Original and Sorcerian Forever

Textfont.dat was just a file with raw pixel data.

You can view that with GIMP, or the tool I use called 7yuv (the latter lets you switch between different pixel formats on the fly).

As for the text mapping, I'm afraid I never wrote down anything.

Re: Sorcerian Original and Sorcerian Forever

Hey there. I think I looked into these files a while ago. I think I posted something about the font, and that the text might be using a custom encoding? It's been a while after all, and I don't remember much, but I can look up what I have. I remember I was able to find some of the scenario text at l...

Re: A quick test

Yes, that's what I'm saying. Script dump and reinsertion seems to be working so far. I only have tested it with a handful of scenes, but so far so good. Still clueless about the image format, since this is something totally different from how current graphics rendering works. In fact, I was asked by...

Re: A quick test

Well, things have changed in these months. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/260996272876421120/356104976549806080/f8ad6ef762.png It turns out that the game uses a "rare" Korean encoding, although Mantra used its own encoding on top of this one, but it's easy to map. (CP1361 or Johab encoding, ...

Re: Brandish 2 Renewal Translation Project

Not really. We are almost done. The game has been 100% playable for half a year, but we keep finding little things. We'll be running another test run soon, if everything is fine, it shall be the final version.

Re: Ys Celceta mod (WIP)

Sorry, I have been really busy lately. The mod in the first post should take care of the freezing in the Sacred Beast Lair, I'm not sure about the Tower of Providence one, since it seems to be random. I never managed to reproduce it.

Don't give it much thought, in some graphics systems, the y axis is inverted, that's why they appear upside down, so yeah, it's x-y

Re: Ys Celceta mod (WIP)

I don't have access to the computer which has the mod right now, I'll upload it as soon as I can. As for the Vita font you mentioned on the other thread, I have no clue what font that is. The only thing I can think of is using one of those font identifying websites ( https://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheF...

Re: Beta Patch Release

Hi there. I released a WIP upgrade to the beta patch, it fixes some timing issues mostly, and some WIP features like new shaders, english voices and alternate soundtrack. I'm still developing it, but progress has been slow, hopefully I should release a new version soon since I managed to fix a major...

Re: Translation tools Trails in the Sky FC

Oh, pretty nice job.

I don't really know about the DT files, but I remember reading that they are pretty similar to the ones used in Zero and Ao, and that the SN files are way more complex.

As for the EXE strings, there are a few ways to do it. Are you familiar with IDA Pro?

Re: Some info i'd like to know

Hello there. First of all, welcome to these forums. If you want to be up to date about the translation, I guess it's better to check the recently opened website https://geofront.esterior.net/ , although right now it's pretty barebones, but in short term, all updates should be posted there. About you...

Re: Ys Celceta mod (WIP)

Well, thank you for the detailed list of issues. I'm aware of those artifacts, shadow rendering isn't perfect in any game, but I'm well aware that what I got here so far has lot of issues. I arrived at a point that it was getting really difficult to improve this, so I decided to leave it for the mom...

Re: Ys Celceta mod (WIP)

Hello Ikusagami. Thanks for the feedback. I have been busy with another stuff and I haven't really worked on this since I released this. I'm aware of the shadows having problems, and I don't really know what to do about them. If you can post some screenshots of the glitched cutscenes, that'd be help...

Oh, that looks nice, all that might come in handy. I just hope you aren't scared of assembler and low level stuff. As for Python editor, do you mean the Python version we are using , or an IDE? I think we haven't decided on an "official" version, there are scripts in both Python 2 and 3. If you mean...

A quick test

I've started to check Ys II Special, and what I've found so far is kind of interesting. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/208840167824293889/244218646992257025/unknown.png The data files aren't compressed at all. English text output can be done without further programming. The font is on the EX...
